The idea
A place to put the things you are trying to remember.
A task list is only part of the picture. There are ideas you have not sorted out yet, people you want to follow up with, and projects that need a little attention each week.
I built LifeBoard to bring those pieces together. The Home screen gives you a daily briefing and a few priorities, with a place to see what needs attention without opening several different tools.
How it works
Capture a thought. Decide what comes next.
You can type a thought or use dictation, then come back to decide whether it belongs on your task list. Tasks can connect to projects, while contacts and goals have their own places on the board.
Daily priorities
A Home view brings together the daily briefing, today’s focus, and items that need attention.
Thought capture
The brain dump gives unfinished thoughts a place to land before you turn them into tasks.
Projects and follow-ups
Keep tasks, personal projects, contacts, and goals within the same workspace.
Planning assistance
Guided planning works without an AI key. Optional conversational AI adds another way to work through the day.
Design decisions
Make it feel like your board.
The starter setup asks for your name, your assistant’s name, and the areas of life you want to organize. You can begin with sample information or an empty board.
The assistant has its own saved notes for ongoing context. Its purpose is to help you work through priorities while you decide what to keep and what to do next.
The starter runs on a laptop without a cloud account. Private hosting is an optional next step for people who want to reach their board from a phone.
A teaching tool, too
Something people can make their own.
I also packaged LifeBoard as a starter for classes and workshops. The repository includes a setup guide, a class lab, and a first-hour guide for continuing at home.
It is built with React and TypeScript, with a Worker API and a local SQLite-compatible database. Conversational replies through OpenRouter are optional, so people can start with the guided tools and add that connection later.
Project status
In beta, with a starter available to explore.
A personalized version of LifeBoard is in beta testing with one user. The starter is available on GitHub under the MIT license for people who want to try it locally or use it as a learning project.
